First and foremost for UU friends supporting the project on Ko-Fi. UU is happy that this group is growing. What more am I going to write here… I appreciate it!
I would also like to thank everyone who feels at least a little bit UU-addicted. Thanks for reporting bugs and for having fun together. These are the things that make this game grow.
Fixes and changes
Version 1.2.8 – 1.2.11
- when the server shutdown message appears, the time to dock in the Outpost/Hive has been increased to 2 minutes
- slightly increased the chance of light ships being hit by heavy ships
- balanced the speed of returning the ship to horizontal position using the Ship Horizon Button
- fixed item clickability in the equipment panel. Now the numbers indicating the quantity of an item no longer block clicking
- fixed a bug that caused a defeated Outpost/Hive not to disappear/jumped out of a star system (view from the defenders' perspective)
- fixed a bug where destroyed enemy ships wouldn't disappear (view from defenders' perspective)
- increased the reward for destroying an enemy faction's base from 60 to 85 merits
- fixed a bug that didn't display a shooter's name in Combat Log
- fixed Power Comp bug for heavy ships regarding energy recovery amount
- fixed the order of icons and descriptions on the bar on the login page
- increased the maximum value of resources in an asteroid - The current maximum value of each resource was 156 and will be increased to 216. This is the maximum value an asteroid can generate. The minimum value remains unchanged. The amount of resources depends on a random choice between the minimum and maximum values.
- fixed a bug in the arena that didn't load an opponent
- added an icon (above Malika and Shana) to indicate low or no ammo/missiles
Around the game
As soon as we deal with the most pressing issues, we will begin testing to better balance the ships and components. This is to ensure even better gameplay and avoid situations where some ship or item turns out to be too good compared to others. The next step will be the introduction of new hull and engines components.
If you have any interesting ideas for new things (not only components), I encourage you to share them on Discord (along with an explanation of how it is supposed to work – simplicity is indicated).
How long it will take to implement these ideas is hard to say. You have to understand that this is still a tiny project. At the moment, UU is blocked by many limitations – primarily time-related ones, because for example, just maintaining the server, checking logs or fixing bugs, coming up with new ideas, analyzing existing data and trying to get something better out of it – it's a lot of work. Another thing is the lack of a test server. In addition, there are sudden problems that cannot be predicted (e.g. crashes that occurred recently). Developing a multiplayer game is awesome, but can be brutal and time-consuming. It needs patience and consistency. It needs a little luck and friendly people around it. There are no shortcuts here :)
Finally, a proposal – if you record gameplay from UU, then - if you want - you can share these videos on the main Unending Universe YouTube channel. People like these types of videos, but unfortunately I don't have time to upload new stuff there. So if anyone would be interested in this, please send me or Nyeko a private message on Discord.
